About us Norwegian Sun
Norwegian Sun entered service in 2001 after completion at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven. Its hull construction involved the Wismar yard, so the history contains more than one German location without implying two different ships. The individual record identifies IMO 9218131 and a 258-metre length. In NCL's present fleet it represents the Sun class after Norwegian Sky's separate charter transition.
Sun remains an active NCL vessel on the check date. The parent company's charter announcement names Cordelia Cruises as the future charterer and places Sun's transition in 2027. That is different from assuming every vessel named in a disposal or charter plan has already left. Confirm an individual departure before organising travel around a future season, particularly near an announced operating handover.
The Great Outdoors supplies an open-air dining setting that is useful to examine alongside the pool deck. Four Seasons and Seven Seas are the main dining rooms, while Garden Café provides another included option. Los Lobos Cantina, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki belong to the speciality choices. A comparison with a larger NCL ship should consider these concrete meal settings rather than simply how many venues appear in a total.
The current activity directory lists a golf driving net, a basketball/volleyball court, a jogging route and children's facilities. These describe a different recreation mix from ships with a racetrack or elaborate water coaster. Check programme arrangements and participation conditions for the ages travelling. For evenings, Stardust Theater and Spinnaker Lounge provide named settings, with Motor City Moves among the published productions. Exact performances should be checked for the chosen sailing.
Suites, balconies and other room categories should be assessed through their own benefits; a Haven entitlement is not inferred from another ship's product. Current operator information records a 2024 refurbishment,1,878 guests at double occupancy and 906 crew. Its 78,309 GT agrees with the individual technical sources. The 968-room operator inventory is cross-checked against a separate deck reference. Neither the older 1,936 double occupancy nor the room total is treated as a verified maximum passenger count.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
