About us Norwegian Gem

Norwegian Gem is the 2007 final member of the four-ship Jewel class built by Meyer Werft. Its 294-metre length and Panamax design place it in a different generation from NCL's recent large ships. That does not make every part of the experience the same as the first Jewel vessel: the dining rooms, production programme and latest refurbishment should be compared individually.

NCL confirmed completed 2026 enhancements in July. Gem's refreshed Thermal Suite includes updated hot-tub and thalassotherapy-pool facilities, while the sister Jade has its own different additions. These are amenities to evaluate for personal preference, without adopting promotional health claims. A traveller interested in the spa should check entry conditions, the opening schedule and whether the selected booking includes any relevant access.

Vibe Beach Club is another current addition, using a repurposed area on deck 14. It provides an adult setting with controlled access, distinct from general outdoor spaces. The Great Outdoors and Bali Hai give other names to look for when planning open-air time. Compare the location of those public areas with the proposed cabin rather than assuming the highest deck or most expensive room automatically creates the preferred holiday.

Grand Pacific and Magenta are Gem's main dining-room names, and Orchid Garden supplies another Asian-themed option. Cagney's Steakhouse, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki belong to the speciality selection. The exact inclusion rules should be read with the fare. For evenings, the current directory lists Blazing Boots and Ignite the Night alongside the Stardust Theater and Spinnaker Lounge settings.

Seasonal deployment is also part of the comparison. The operator's 2026 account describes Mediterranean and Greek-island voyages before Caribbean and Bahamas sailings from Tampa later in the year. Those are dated plans rather than a permanent homeport declaration. The current individual ship page gives 2,388 guests at double occupancy and 1,070 crew; some aggregate pages still differ on guests. The 93,530 GT builder and operator reference is used, and unresolved cabin totals are not silently filled from Pearl.
