About us MSC Lirica

MSC Lirica entered service in 2003 as a purpose-built ship for MSC Cruises. Its original construction was in Saint-Nazaire, France, rather than the Palermo yard responsible for its later lengthening. It gives its name to the Lirica family used in MSC's fleet classification. Armonia and Sinfonia have separate earlier careers under Festival names, so the family label should not erase their different histories.

The current operator reference gives 65,591 gross tonnage, 274.9 metres rounded length, 28.8 metres breadth and 992 cabins. It lists approximately 721 crew and a full guest reference of 2,658. An older individual technical sheet records 2,679 guests. That earlier figure is not silently blended into the current configuration, and a room count is not used to fabricate double occupancy. Thirteen total decks include nine for guests in the individual sheet.

Lirica completed its Renaissance lengthening in 2015, adding a new central section and associated accommodation and public spaces. Original launch-era dimensions are therefore not suitable for today's length comparison. The completed conversion explains the vessel's changed scale without proving which year contained the most recent smaller refurbishment or maintenance period.

Broadway Theatre, Las Vegas Casino and Blue Club Disco are identifiable evening venues in the operator presentation. La Bussola and L'Ippocampo appear in the individual dining inventory, with La Pergola, Le Bistrot and Kaito Sushi Bar providing further references. Lord Nelson Pub and The Beverly Hills Bar add other meeting settings. These names come from Lirica-specific material, rather than the incorrectly linked Armonia sheet on a regional operator page.

For a holiday shortlist, compare the spray park and children's offer with the actual departure programme. Then examine the exact cabin's sleeping arrangement and outlook, including any balcony conditions. Follow the routes to meals and the meeting spaces your group will revisit. Relate that layout to ports and sea days. Lirica's own current categories and itinerary form a better basis than a generic class description or a plan for the wrong ship.
