About us Costa Diadema
Costa Diadema was delivered in 2014 by Fincantieri at Marghera, near Venice. Designer Joe Farcus described its development from the Carnival Dream platform, with an added deck and substantial changes to the public arrangement. That design history is a better explanation of its proportions than a brochure that incorrectly calls the smaller Costa Deliziosa its twin. The present vessel carries IMO 9636888.
A distinctive feature is the outdoor promenade on deck five, extending for more than 500 metres according to the builder. Farcus connected this level with restaurant and bar spaces, while Grand Bar Orlov links different interior levels through its stair and dance-floor arrangement. This creates several ways to move between indoor entertainment and an outside walk without making the pool deck the only destination for a sea day.
Emerald Theatre occupies several levels. Country Rock Club provides a different evening setting, while Teodora is another named lounge. Their schedules determine what is available during a particular sailing. A room beside one of these public areas should be considered through the individual deck reference; the presence of a balcony alone says little about distance from evening music or passing traffic.
Current dining listings include Teppanyaki and Pummid'Oro alongside other restaurants. Compare the meal format and reservation conditions when choosing a fare. A speciality venue is not automatically included because its name appears on the ship page. Families can also examine Squok facilities and the actual age rules before treating the ship's overall guest capacity as evidence of suitability for a particular child.
The insurer records 133,019 GT, while the yard uses a rounded 133,000. Length is 306 metres and moulded breadth 37.2 metres. Current operator references support 1,862 rooms, 1,253 crew and 4,947 maximum guests. A lower-berth figure remains unresolved across sources. Nineteen decks follow the current operator inventory rather than an older twenty-deck brochure. Contractor evidence confirms work in Marseille in 2023; it does not establish that every room was rebuilt. The original technical specification describes diesel-electric propulsion and a maximum speed of 22.5 knots.
