About us Carnival Sunshine
Carnival Sunshine began passenger service in 1996 as Carnival Destiny. The Sunshine name followed the major 2013 conversion, so the ship's age and its present identity describe different moments in the same hull's history. Carnival groups it with Sunrise and Radiance in the Sunshine family. The first service year in this reference remains 1996 rather than treating the conversion as construction of a new vessel.
The current operator ship page publishes 102,853 gross tonnage and a passenger reference of 3,002 at double occupancy in its associated technical information. Fincantieri's original ship-family specification gives a rounded length of 272 metres and moulded breadth of 35.5 metres. Historic original cabin totals are not assumed to describe the converted arrangement. The crew figure is left unresolved because current operator publications disagree.
Sunshine's outdoor presentation gives particular prominence to Serenity, described across three decks, alongside WaterWorks and SportSquare. Speedway Splash is the named waterslide in the operator's overview. These are specific places to examine when comparing how different members of a travelling party might divide a day. Current activity conditions and the actual plan are more useful than an old Destiny-era description.
The dining and social selection includes JiJi Asian Kitchen, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Havana Bar and Alchemy Bar. Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina also appear among the current venues. Their presence offers choices rather than a promise that every meal, drink or service is included. Match the precise fare conditions with the places you expect to use.
Accommodation should be checked at category level. The operator distinguishes Scenic Ocean View rooms from other windowed categories whose outlook may be obstructed or face a public walkway. Compare the advertised view, sleeping arrangement and location before treating two outside rooms as interchangeable. Then relate the preferred room to the itinerary's sea days and port visits. Sunshine's present configuration and its separate construction and conversion history provide a firmer comparison than a single undifferentiated inaugural date.
