Ship reference
Ship specifications and sources.
Carnival Firenze is the former Costa Firenze, delivered by Fincantieri from Marghera in 2020. Passenger service began in 2021, before the transfer to Carnival Cruise Line in 2024. Those milestones describe the same physical ship at different stages of its history. The Carnival introduction should therefore not be mistaken for the year in which a newly constructed vessel first carried passengers.
The current Carnival ship page gives 135,156 gross tonnage, while the builder's technical reference records an overall length of 323.63 metres and a moulded breadth of 37.2 metres. The operator's deck-plan publication defines guest capacity as 4,126 at double occupancy. The present crew figure remains unresolved because the ship page and deck-plan reference differ slightly. No old Costa accommodation inventory is assumed to remain unchanged after the brand transfer.
Florence provides the individual visual theme. The operator identifies Piazza Duomo and the Michelangelo and Medici restaurants, with Teatro Rosso and Tuscan Lounge among the gathering and entertainment spaces. This distinguishes Firenze from the Venice-inspired presentation of Venezia even though the two share a close design relationship. Comparing those named settings is more useful than expecting every Italian-inspired ship to have identical rooms.
The food selection includes La Strada Grill, Il Viaggio and Tomodoro. Carnival describes Tomodoro as a combination of Mexican and Italian influences. The exact fare and current dining conditions still need checking; a restaurant name does not tell you whether a particular meal is included. Read the ship's current venue information rather than relying on an old review written under the Costa name.
Terrazza accommodation is another specific point to investigate. Its categories include interior and cabana options, with access arrangements linked to the dedicated terrace setting. Compare the precise category, sleeping layout, outlook and stated privileges before paying for a particular product. For the overall holiday, relate those room details to the actual itinerary and the time you expect to spend aboard. Firenze's construction history and current Carnival facilities should be kept together without confusing past and present services.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
Only independently documented types are listed; this is not a complete inventory. Sizes and occupancy refer to the stated type, not every cabin.
