Port reference

Patmos

Patmos is an Aegean island cruise destination whose passenger harbour is Skala. The port settlement and the hilltop historic town of Chora are different places. A cruise arrival does not put passengers directly beside the monastery above. Choose the local visit and return route using the actual landing instructions, especially where the vessel remains at anchor and passengers use tenders.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The Hellenic Ports Association's port profile identifies a cruise quay and anchorage facilities. It also describes separate yacht facilities. A marina berth or harbour office is not automatically the ship's passenger meeting point. Confirm whether your call uses a quay or a tender and keep the return location available throughout the outing. Historical technical limits are not treated here as permanent rules for every visiting ship.

An air arrival through another island, such as Kos or Leros, needs a separate road connection to its ferry port and a confirmed sea crossing to Patmos. Those airports are not on Patmos. Do not book a tight airport-to-ship connection by comparing flight arrival with a cruise boarding deadline alone. Check the complete sequence, luggage handling and the possibility of arriving on an earlier day.

Blue Star publishes ferry connections involving Patmos, Leros and Kos as part of its Aegean network. Ferries and cruise tenders are separate services and cannot be substituted for one another. At the research date the operator also publishes modifications for the October 30 strike, reinforcing the need to check the actual travel date. No direct passenger railway to Skala's cruise landing is independently verified here.

Chora, the Monastery of Saint John and the Cave of the Apocalypse form distinct visiting points away from the immediate harbour edge. Their gradients, access routes and admission arrangements need consideration. A shorter walk around Skala is another option. Leave time for the return to the actual cruise landing rather than treating the end of a local tour as the ship's boarding deadline.

Celestyal's published repeating Iconic Greek Islands itinerary includes Patmos during its stated 2025–2026 season. The regular line reference follows that programme. A historical annual passenger count is not presented as the current year's traffic. The official coordinate represents Patmos generally, not a particular tender pontoon.
