Port reference

Dover

Dover's cruise facilities are at the Western Docks, separate from the port's busy cross-Channel ferry operation. A journey booked simply to Dover ferry port can therefore end at the wrong passenger area. Use the cruise terminal and berth in your documents when selecting a route, transfer or hotel pickup. The port distinguishes two dedicated cruise terminals and an additional port-of-call berth.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

Cruise Terminal1 occupies a former railway-station building, while Cruise Terminal2 is a separate purpose-built facility. The port publishes the shared Western Docks address for CT1 and CT2 and a different Marina Curve address for berthWD4. These references should not be collapsed into a single entrance for every visit. Check the actual cruise schedule and current ship instructions.

Dover Priory is the relevant town railway station. Rail services from London still leave a final station-to-terminal journey. The port describes station shuttles on selected dates, not an automatic connection for every arrival. Choose the walk, taxi or confirmed shuttle according to luggage, mobility and the sailing's check-in time. The historical terminal building does not mean that a present-day passenger train runs to the gangway.

Heathrow and Gatwick are flight gateways identified by the port, both requiring a substantial onward transfer. Match the airport, arrival time and complete travel route before booking. No fixed airport-to-ship journey time is promised here. Cruise-line airport transfers have their own eligibility and operating dates rather than being interchangeable with public rail or a taxi reservation.

Dover Castle and the White Cliffs are separate visiting destinations. English Heritage and the National Trust publish their own visitor information and walking routes. A viewpoint above the harbour needs a real outward and return plan, not an assumption that the cliff edge is reached by a flat terminal stroll. Keep the ship's boarding deadline in local time.

Holland America publishes a recurring Dover programme for Nieuw Statendam, including its2027 return season. The port's individual call list may show other brands without establishing a repeated embarkation programme for each. The coordinate is the general official World Port Index harbour reference, not a cruise-terminal entrance.

Getting there

Airport connections

Heathrow and Gatwick require an onward journey to Western Docks. Confirm the complete transfer and sailing terminal; no fixed journey time is guaranteed here.

Rail connections

Dover Priory is the town station. Add a taxi, suitable walk or confirmed selected-date station shuttle to the actual cruise terminal.

Local transport and final connection

Use Western Docks cruise facilities rather than the ferry terminal. CT1/CT2 and WD4 have different address references; check the ship assignment.
