About us Norwegian Star
Norwegian Star is the 2001 first member of the Dawn class, built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg. Norwegian Dawn followed the next year. The pairing provides a useful comparison of ships with similar dimensions, but Star's own restaurant names and adult outdoor areas should not be replaced with its sister's descriptions. Its current refurbishment reference is 2021, separate from the original construction year.
Spice H 2O is one of the clearest planning points for adults seeking a different setting from the main pool. The operator describes a daytime retreat that can take on a livelier evening role. That change of use matters when evaluating a cabin near a public area: proximity can offer convenience without guaranteeing the same sound or atmosphere throughout the day. Check the sailing programme before choosing solely for a photographed daytime scene.
The activity directory also includes a golf driving net, basketball courts and a jogging route. These give concrete points to compare with the more elaborate recreation decks of newer NCL vessels. Children's spaces and the pool should be considered separately for the ages travelling. A list of sports facilities is not proof that a particular supervised programme operates continuously.
Versailles and Aqua identify Star's main dining rooms, while Ginza adds an Asian choice. Le Bistro, La Cucina and Teppanyaki belong to the speciality selection. Review what the fare includes before building a restaurant plan. For evenings, the Stardust Theater and Proof Whiskey Bar provide different settings, with Women of Rock and The Wild Cards among the currently published programmes. Confirm the actual schedule when a production influences the booking.
Suites and balcony rooms should be compared by exact category benefits rather than by assuming the Haven arrangement found on other ships. Current operator figures list 2,298 double-occupancy guests and 1,031 crew. Its 91,740 GT and 294-metre length agree with the individual builder reference. The historical 2,348 passenger figure is not used as today's double occupancy, and unresolved current room inventory is left empty rather than inferred from sister ships.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
