About us Disney Magic
Disney Magic began Disney Cruise Line's passenger story with its maiden voyage on 30 July 1998. Fincantieri built the ship using its Marghera and Ancona facilities. The permanent IMO number is 9126807; Gard's current vessel record confirms Bahamas flag, construction year 1998 and 83,969 gross tonnage. That individual present figure is more specific than the rounded tonnage in promotional fleet summaries.
The ship has retained a distinct character as the fleet has expanded. Rapunzel's Royal Table links dinner with the Tangled story, while Lumiere's draws on Beauty and the Beast and Animator's Palate celebrates animation. These are individual venue references, rather than a restaurant list shared automatically with Wonder or the newer ships. Rotational dining accompanies the themed setting with an assigned serving team.
Stage entertainment includes Tangled: The Musical, Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams. AquaDunk provides a separate waterslide attraction. The published programme should be checked for the actual voyage, particularly where performances or special themed days depend on the sailing. The Marvel Day at Sea programme announced for selected 2026 Galveston departures does not turn every Magic cruise into a Marvel event.
Disney's September 2026 dry-dock account confirms recent work on Magic, including a refreshed Edge club and hull coating. It does not identify the exact year of every Magic modification, so the latest major-refurbishment year remains unresolved. Likewise, the builder's original 294-metre length differs from later operator dimensions; the current length is not silently copied from the delivery design.
The current offer combines family activities with adult spaces and premium Palo dining, which carries an extra charge and requires reservations. English is the main programme language and onboard accounts use US dollars. The 875-cabin operator inventory differs from the builder's original 880 figure, so a reconciled current total remains pending. Compare the room category, actual itinerary and optional services rather than treating all original-generation Disney ships as interchangeable.
